Archive for November, 2007

Hi guys

Today at midnight is a cutoff date for reprint orders guaranteed to be delivered before Christmas. So please hurry up if you want to give prints as Xmas presents!

By all means you can keep placing orders after 30 November but it might not get to you in time for Xmas. But hey, life doesn’t stop…

If you missed the deadline it is still possible for you to get through the Quick Shop at the top navigation bar:

- gift vouchers for £20 and £30 (or combination of those (£20+£30=£50)). They will go to you in the next day post.
- extra copies of your DVD slideshow.

Cheers

Galina

Just finished designing Jessica and Chris’s wedding album. This is a 12×12 magazine-style book. The colour accents are dark chocolate and mint, and they are inspired by a custom paper napkin with the couple’s names that was left on a weathered wooden table.

Here are some layouts from this album:

What’s up

November 28, 2007

Editing photos from Ahn and James’ wedding.

Preparing a DVD slideshow for Emma and Keith, and some DVDs for Rachel.

Assembling a portrait album for the Whyman family.

Next wedding album to design - Victoria and Sholto’s.

Caroline emailed me this thank you note yesterday:

“Dear Galina

We received our wedding album on Frofay and just absolutely love it! Thank you so much for perfectly capturing our day - you are brilliant.

I hope your move went smoothly.

Thanks again

Love

Caroline”

I am glad you like it! G

With the stressful move I forgot to mention that some of my work was published in November 2007 issue of Digital Photo Pro magazine (by the way, John gave me a year’s subscription to this magazine as my birthday gift in January!):

I’ve just received a December issue which jogged my memory.

A bundle of re-directed post from Norwich came in and with it a thank you note from Stacey and Mark who live in Japan now. They also sent me this amazing Japanese crafted photoframe!

Thank you, guys!

The note reads:

“Galina,

This is just a quick note to you to say thank you for sending on the CD with photographs. Mark and I have spent hours looking at them. They are simply wonderful. I cannot say how happy they have made me, bringing back memories of our day as well as seeing the facial expressions of everyone.

I had a vague idea of what I wanted in my wedding photographs but I can honestly say that you have surpassed my expectations. The photographs are fantastic, you have a fabulous creative eye! Thank you so much.

Mark and I were out exploring Japan and had the chance whilst in Koyoto to see this small gift that we have bought you. The gift is something that I hope makes you smile as well as gives you a reminder of us both here in Japan. Again, thank you and we hope you like this little somethinng…

Love.

Stacey+Mark”

It’s so good of you to send me this - it’s absolutely fabulous! I am so glad that you liked your photos!!!! Galina

I’ve got reports that some people who are using their workplace emails haven’t received our recent e-newsletter as their server blocked it.

Here’s the link to the online version for you:

Catching up with post-processing today. Richard Ashton is an author of several books, including his best-selling “Enterpreneur’s Book of Checklists”. He is in a process of completing a new book based on a series of interviews in the Norfolk area and needed some editorial photos to promote it. We spent a couple of hours at various Norwich locations before before I left for Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Here are some images that I took at the Olives cafe on Elm Hill:

John and I are sending our condolences to the Whyman family whom we photographed this summer. Their dad died unexpectedly last Thursday.

We have survived the move - and the torture trip to Ikea Gateshead…

Broadband is connected. I am slowly working through over 200 emails that accummulated since our move last week.

All existing wedding and portrait clients should have received a newsletter with our new address and Xmas deadlines. If you haven’t received your copy it means your email address on file is invalid or old - please get in touch and I’ll update my database.

All outstanding canvas wraps are with the labs and will be couriered to you directly.

I have some odds and ends ready for posting (DVD cover substitutes etc) - need to find the nearest post office though.

I am processing a PR assignment from Norwich today. The rest of the week - reprint orders and three albums to go to the album company for fulfilment.

And of course John and I cannot wait for the weekend when the IKEA bookshelves are to be assembled…
